Entry requirements

Applicants should have either:

  • A minimum of a 2:2 class degree in any subject area, equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, or
  • Professional work experience in other settings and/or other prior qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis

All applicants must provide evidence that they have an English language ability equivalent to an IELTS (academic) score of 6.5.

If you don’t have an IELTS or equivalent certificate, you can take our free online English test to assess your proficiency.

Course features

On this programme, you will be able to explore leadership and management theories, models, and concepts, and learn how to apply them within a healthcare setting. You will gain advanced knowledge of health organisations and the changing context in which they operate, combined with an ability to effectively lead your team, and make strategic decisions.

Towards the end of the programme, you will undertake a project to evaluate the impact of a particular aspect of organisational change, and how that contributes to improvements within healthcare services.

Through this programme, you will:

Our Healthcare Leadership programmes are delivered in collaboration with the School of Medicine at the University of Liverpool, one of the largest medical education providers in the UK. You will learn from leading professionals in academic, and healthcare leadership positions, benefitting from real-life experiences of leading and managing healthcare across a wide range of services and organisations.

Our pioneering School of Medicine was established in 1834 and has been at the forefront of medical practice and research for over 180 years.

This online master’s in healthcare leadership is run by the Management School in collaboration with the School of Medicine at the University of Liverpool who have designed unique interdisciplinary programmes to educate today’s healthcare professionals for tomorrow’s healthcare challenges. We provide postgraduate programmes that support your career development and equip you with the confidence, knowledge and skills that are essential for success within the 21st-century healthcare environment.

Assessment

Towards the end of the programme, you will undertake a project to evaluate the impact of a particular aspect of organisational change, and how that contributes to improvements within healthcare services.

You will be required to complete 180 credits to achieve a full master’s. This programme is also available as a postgraduate certificate (PG Cert) which amounts to 60 credits and a postgraduate diploma (PG Dip) which amounts to 120 credits.

Assessment is exclusively through online assignments rather than examinations. You will be assessed through a range of activities, including written assignments, discussion forum participation and journal entries.
