Often referred to as a dentist’s “extra pair of hands”, dental assistants help make the delivery of dental treatment more efficient by fulfilling tasks such as sterilising and handling dental instruments, taking impressions, and carrying out a range of administrative tasks. Dental assistants also benefit from the opportunity to make a tangible difference to people’s lives and health in addition to enjoying above-average job security.
The Dental Assistant Diploma providers aspiring dental assistants with a head start in their careers, offering both premium course content designed by senior members of the profession as well as the opportunity for students to learn at their own pace and according to their time constraints.
The course explores various aspects of the dental assistant profession and delves into topics such as nutrition, pharmacology, dental radiography and office management, thus providing learners with a well-rounded understanding of the trade to serve them on their career paths.
Following completion, learners will have gained the necessary skills and experience to pursue employment at general dental practices, dental hospitals and private practices amongst others. With additional experience, it’s also possible to work as a self-employed dental assistant contracted by a dental practice.
